Yes, this is definitely possible.
If you are a Windows user, to select certain portion of the data from just one page (e.g. one paragraph, one column etc.), open your PDF file in Able2Extract and click on the "Area" button on the toolbar. Then left click with your mouse, beginning at the position from which you want to select the data. Drag the mouse pointer (while still holding the left mouse button pressed) over the portion of text that you want to select. Once you have made the desired selection, release the left mouse button.
On the other hand, if you wish to select certain areas on more than one page and skip the ones in between, you can achieve this by combining the "Area" command with the CTRL key. In order to do this, please follow these steps:
- Open your PDF file in Able2Extract and select the "Area" icon on the toolbar.
- Then press the CTRL key on the keyboard and use your mouse to select the portion of the data you want to convert from any page of the document. In other words, press the CTRL key, do the left click with your mouse and drag the mouse pointer over a portion of the data you want to convert from the first page; while you are still holding the CTRL key pressed, go to another page of the document to select another portion of the data for conversion, etc. To go from one page to another while you are selecting the data, use the Thumbnails. In this way you will be able to select desired portions of data from more than one page, skipping at the same time pages in between.
Once you have made the desired selection, release the CTRL key. Then click on the desired file format button on the toolbar (Word / Excel etc.) and proceed with the conversion in a usual way.
If you are a Mac user, instead of the CTRL key, you have to use the Command key. The rest of the instruction, however, remains the same as above.
