How do I configure whether or not the file will automatically be opened upon conversion?

To do so, please use the Open File After Conversion check-box, which is found on the General Tab of the Conversion Options dialog. When the box is checked, it will cause the output program to launch with the file open once the conversion is made. For example, a Word conversion will cause an instance of Microsoft Word to open, etc. 

On the other hand, if the box is unchecked, the conversion will be performed and the output file will be saved at a specified location, but it won't be automatically opened in the output program after the conversion is done.
