There are a number
or variables that could be causing this error. a root cause can be that Windows’
data execution prevention is sometimes turned “on”, which appears to prevent
our software from performing properly in some cases. Data Execution Prevention
(DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from
viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows
by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations
reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can
harm your programs and files. DEP can
help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they
use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using
memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.
To check this: right-click Computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Performance>Settings>Data Execution Prevention>choose 2nd option and "add" A2E Pro to list, and click Apply (then reboot your system).
If the error persists, then there may be some other compatibility problem with the software and perhaps another application on your computer. For example, users who suddenly cannot convert any scanned PDF files (but can convert original/native PDF files) have tried the following: installing the latest updates for their Adobe Reader/Acrobat software, performing an anti-virus sweep, or turning off a virus scanner.
